Governor prays for peace

GUWAHATI, June 26: Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit today paid a visit to Kamakhya Temple and paid obeisance to Goddess Kamakhya and sought her blessings for the development of all sections of the people in the State.
Visiting the Shakti Shrine at the decent of Nivritti which marks the culmition of the of the five-day Ambubachi Mela, one of the greatest spiritual gatherings of the country, Purohit this morning offered his puja at the Shakti Peeth for the welfare of the people of Assam. He also thanked lakhs of devotees from the country and abroad who had flocked at the famous Shakti Shrine for making the Ambubachi Mela a grand success.
The Governor also hailed the efforts of the Temple Magement Committee, civil and police administration, volunteers of different agencies for putting in their best efforts in celebrating the Ambubachi Mela maintaining the highest order of harmony, tranquility and peaceful coexistence where pilgrims from different regions of the country and abroad have converged to practice and realize the union of mind with the soul.
