Governor stresses integrating differently-abled

Guwahati, Sept 7: Governor Banwarilal Purohit advocated the need for integrating differently-abled children into the main stream of the society as they constitute a sizeable number of human resources of the State.

Speaking at the 31st foundation day function of Sahayika Sishu Nirdeshan Kendra, Guwahati here in the city on Wednesday evening, Governor Purohit hailed the efforts of Sishu Nirdeshan Kendra which has been working with passion and dedication since 1986 to integrate the children with special needs to the main stream of the society and ensuring their dignified life. Referring to the teachings of the Vaishvite Saints Sankardev and Madhabdev, Purohit said that these saints thought of a society where everybody gets a chance to lead a dignified life and the role of Sahayika Sishu Nirdeshan Kendra in bringing the differently able children to the main stream of the society by ensuring their rights of dignity and equality, have had the reflections of the teachings of Sankardev and Madhabdev.  He also assured all possible help of the government to Sishu Nirdeshan Kendra to help the organisation in its endeavour of educating the differently able children and use them for the development of the State.
