Govind sets murder scene afresh

GUWAHATI, Dec 8: Guwahati Police Commissioner Hiren Chandra th has said that Govind Singhal has been made to set the scene leading to the death of Sweta Agarwal afresh so as to let the investigators get into the core of the killing, protest against which sees no end even on Friday.

Talking to this reporter, the City Police Commissioner said: “Govind was made to recreate the scene that led to the killing of Sweta on December 4. Some evidences have been collected in the process. The five-day police remand of Govind is going to expire on Saturday when he will be produced before the court. If the evidences so collected aren’t enough, we may seek more police remand so as to collect more evidences.”

Meanwhile, protest against the killing of Sweta does not see any end. Around 700 people from Marwari Sanmilan, Marway Yuva Mancha and Manipuri Piura Paibi Women Association staged protest at Dighalipukhuripar in Guwahati on Friday. With placards in their hands, the slogan-shouting protestors marched to the DC office and submitted a memorandum, seeking immediate punishment to the culprit of the murder. They appealed to the Deputy Commissioner to ensure that justice is not delayed.
