Graduate primary teachers want early release of pay

GUWAHATI, Jan 17: Dispur, according to All Assam Middle Graduate Assistant Teacher Kalyan Samittee (AAMGATKS), is out to delay making payment to graduate primary teachers their salaries in accordance with the Seventh Pay Commission Recommendations despite an order issued from the Gauhati High Court towards that end.

In a statement issued to the press on Jaury 17, Samittee president Kukil Deori and secretary Mainul Haque Choudhury said that the government adopted a delaying tactics on the pretext of the Pay Anomaly Committee report that submitted it recently. The department not taking any measures despite the submission of the committee report led them to suffer, they said. It was in 2012 the government, through a notification, made graduation as educatiol qualification of upper primary teachers. In 2008 the department promoted undergraduate teachers to graduate posts, and this is why the salary of graduate upper primary teachers should be graduate grade pay.
