GU Communika '16 from today

GUWAHATI, April 5: The Department of Communication and Jourlism, Gauhati University is going to organize a three-day-long annual media festival from April 6 in association with UB Photos, Kaziranga University, Image and NE Zine. The 9th edition of this media festival – Communika 2016 – will be iugurated by Sahitya Akademi Award-winning writer Kula Saikia. A semir on jourlism will be held on the first day of the event. Workshops on photography, skill development for interview and 2D and 3D animation will follow. There will also be competitions like quiz, photography, collage and cartoon making, headline writing, news writing, short film and folk dance. An ethnic fatigue competition ‘Mr. and Miss Communika’ will also be held on April 7. A puppetry show and a cultural night by well known singer Rupam Bhuyan is scheduled for the concluding day of the festival.
