Guwahati Film Festival from today

GUWAHATI, March 3: The two-day-long Guwahati  Film Festival will begin tomorrow in the city. Assam Cultural Affairs Minister ba Kumar Doley will iugurate the ceremony.  The festival is being organized by Chalachitram, Directorate of Film Festival and State Cultural Department. Akashvani is also one of the partners of the festival. Several films and documentaries will be screened during the festival at three places in Guwahati. Meanwhile,  The Pride of Assam has been selected as the best film in the category of heritage short film competition which was held as a part of the festival. Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal will grace the concluding programmes. The winners of the competition are The Pride of Assam producer and director Mab Jyoti Kalita.  best director for the movie Fil Amen (Sikar and Sitkar) Ramen Borah, best editor Mab Jyoti Kalita (The Pride of Assam) Best DoP Hiten Thakuria (Fil Amen), best  voice over Jitendra Ram Prakash (Fil Amen) and jury's special mention (certificates only) Judima- a sacred drinks of Dimasa Tribe by Hemprakash Mout and Song from Mapao  by Renuka Soraisam.
