Guwahati Jal Board organizes awareness meeting

GUWAHATI, Jan 28: In order to create awareness among the people, the Guwahati Jal Board on Wednesday organized an awareness meeting to address the issue of water crisis during winters. The meeting organized in Pamohi area witnessed a heavy footfall, a press statement informed. In the meeting the project team informed the public that, their house will be connected through piped water supply soon. As their area comes under the South West Guwahati Water Supply Project, which is scheduled to be commissioned in this year itself. A documentary film on the project was screened at the beginning of the meeting, followed by a PowerPoint presentation describing the project details. People present at the meeting requested the project team to complete the pipe laying work in their areas where pipe laying has not been done and to start the project as soon as possible. The residents present welcomed this kind of awareness activity and assured to provide support and cooperation for smooth implementation of the project.
