Handique Girls' College organizes philosophy quiz

GUWAHATI, March 30: An inter-college quiz competition organized for the first time on philosophy by Handique Girls’ College in Guwahati on Wednesday witnessed enthusiastic participation by several colleges. An initiative of the Philosophical Study Circle of the Department of Philosophy, Handique College, the competition was keenly contested by over a hundred participants, with girl students from other departments too present in large number. The event began with welcome address delivered by Venlalrempui Lalsim, student member of Philosophical Study Circle, followed by Madhuchanda Chaliha Bhuyan, Head of Department of Philosophy, outlining its objective. Conducted by departmental professors Meekshi Sharma Pathak, Merry Halam, Paran Goswami and Sudesh Choudhry Bhattacharya, the quiz competition was attended by Madhab Chandra Talukdar, Coorditor, IQAC and several other professors. The first prize was won by the Pandu College duo Arpita Dey and Merry Ghosh, the second prize by Anindita Kalita and Bidya B Borah of Handique Girls’ College and the third prize by Ranjit Mandal and Amritangshu Baruah of Cotton University. Professor Kunja Deka presented the prizes to the winners and certificates to the participants. The programme concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Geetashri Bodo.
