Harendrath memorial lecture on August 31

GUWAHATI, August 28: The Harendrath Baruah Memorial Trust is going to pay tribute to Harendrath Baruah on his 29th death anniversary at a function at Vivekanda Kendra Auditorium on August 31, 2016. The programme included a memorial meeting at 4 pm, followed by the felicitation of noted jourlist Ajit Kumar Bhuyan. At the same function, jourlist Yumm Rupchandra will deliver the Harendrath Baruah Memorial lecture on ‘Manipur in the backdrop of SFSPA and Irom Sharmila’. Born on November 10, 1908, Harendrath Baruah was a jourlist and a freedom fighter. He died on August 31, 1987.
