Health camp for flood-hit organized

GUWAHATI, Aug 10: Coming forward to help the flood affected residents of Morigaon, Dalmia Cement in collaboration with Abikal, an NGO conducted a free health camp for forest guards and also provided relief materials to the affected people, a press release said.

The flood relief campaign was iugurated by State Forest & Environment minister Pramila Rani Brahma.

Speaking at event, Forest Minister Brahma said, “Change in weather causes various diseases which makes a health camp like this a necessity.”

She also stressed on developing Pobitora as an important tourist spot.  

Relief material was provided to 200 families where necessary provision like food, toiletries, clothes and other household essentials were handed out.

The frontline staffs of forests were provided with a kit containing antiseptic liquids, medicated soap, a pair of sandal, t-shirt and a cotton vest. Around 120 forest guards participated in the free health checkup camp. This was stated in a press release.
