By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 10: Come July 11 evening, the sun is going to relent its wrath for at least for three days. This is what the Department Meteorology forecast today.

The department predicted that heavy to very heavy rains are in the forecast for the coming three days. According to the forecast, the temperature would start falling from the evening of July 11.

Officials in the Department said that the day temperature has been 4.7 degrees above normal for the past three days in the State. They say that the onset of monsoon and absence of any rain-causing low-pressure area are behind the heat wave in Assam. Absence of any favourable wind direction towards the Northeast is also responsible for the scorching heat. The officials further said that a ‘low-pressure area’ has already left Bay of Bengal for the Northeastern states via Bangladesh. According them, south westerly and south southerly winds cause in Assam and Meghalaya.
