Himalayan Blues water bottles banned

GUWAHATI, Sept 2: Himalayan Blues (with added minerals), a packaged drinking water, has been declared unsafe for human consumption by the food alyst to the Government in terms of the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Acts, 2006. The sample of Himalayan blues (with added minerals) packaged drinking water is microbiologically unsatisfactory with respect to total viable colony count at 37°C in contravention to standard as laid down in Regulations of the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Additives) Regulations, 2011 and  declared un-safe in the interest of public health, a press release said. The notification issued by the Commissioner, Food Safety, Assam prohibit the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of Himalayan Blues (with added minerals) Packaged Drinking Water manufactured by Himalaya Drops, Village-Ratanpur, P.O. Digheli, district lbari, Assam. The desigted officers, Food Safety of the districts are directed to strictly enforce this prohibition.
