Himanta for 'rainbow alliance'

GUWAHATI, Oct 6: State Fince Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today laid stress on a ‘rainbow alliance’ between Assamese Muslims, Assamese Hindus and Hindu Bengalis.  Speaking to reporters after a meeting at SSA office in city, Sarma said, “I persolly believe there should have an alliance between Assamese Muslims, Assamese Hindus and Hindu Bengalis to protect the land and country from the economic migrant.” Sarma said that the economic migrant will take over our state very soon with such an alliance. The Minister further said that government is committed to protect the Assamese Muslims.  “We must think about the protection of Assamese Muslims, who have been living here for ages,” Sarma added.
