Hiren Bora's film Khobh set to release

GUWAHATI, Sept 7:  Assamese feature film ‘Khobh (Anguish), directed by critically acclaimed film maker Hiren Bora is all set to hit the screens on September 29 next.

According to director Bora, Khobh is the story of an 11-year-old child, who lived with his family.

“Set in a village in Assam, the story of the film revolves around the anguish felt by 11-year-old Sanju, the protagonist, who lived with his family consisting of his father Sameer, mother Jayanti and younger sister Rekha besides his grandparents and domestic help Jolly,” Bora said.

The film has already been screened at different intertiol film festival and received critical acclaim.

It was screened at 20th Kolkata Intertiol Festival (2015), 22nd Cairo Intertiol Cinema & Art for Children (2015), Habitat Film Festival, New Delhi (2015), 8th Intertiol Children’s Film Festival, Bangladesh (2015), 1st Kartaka Intertiol Children’s Film Festival (2014) and 3rd Kolhapur Intertiol Film Festival (2014).

“The concept of the movie is totally different. We hope audience will love the movie,” said filmmaker Manju Bora.

Some of the actors who have played important role are Abhilash Borthakur (child artist), Harshita Utpal Das (child artist), Bishnu Khargharia, Nishita Goswami, Nipon Goswami, Rita Bora, Apar Dutta Chowdhury, Bibhuti Hazarika and ndita Barua.

Shankar Lal Goenka has produced the film.
