GUWAHATI, Nov 1: Hojai MLA Siladitya Dev lodged an FIR with Dispur police station on Wednesday stating that some unidentified persons threatened him over telephone. The FIR says that at 1.33 pm on October 31, 2017 the MLA received a telephone call on his mobile (9435119900) from a phone (639233809345). The person on the other end of the phone, according to the FIR, abused the MLA, besides telling him that he would face dire consequences if he kept talking against Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingiya Muslims. “The caller spoke in Bengali and later spoke in broken Assamese,” the FIR said, and added: “Later on the day another phone call came from the number 4455067 at 4.05 pm and he too started abusing and warned me not to speak against Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingiya Muslims. This person also spoke to me in only Bengali and was introducing himself as Mr Das from Tinsukia which I could make was fake.”

Taking to newsmen later, Dev said: “While checking the callers’ numbers I found one from Phillippine and the other from the UK.”
