Home guards demand pay hike

Guwahati, Aug 29: The Assam Home Guard Welfare Association (AHGWA) has demanded implementation of 7th Pay Commission. The Association asserted that apart from the hike in pay scale, the home guards should be entitled to perks and privileges on a par with the jawans of Assam Police.   In addition, it also demanded recruitment of home guards as 3rd and 4th grades employees in all Central and State government departments. Addressing the media persons here on Tuesday, AHGWA president Dwipen Sarma said that the association will take out a rally from Dighalipukhuri to Dispur on September 4, demanding hike in their remuneration.
