Hunger strike by BJP MPs

GUWAHATI, April 12:  As announced earlier, Prime Minister rendra Modi staged a hunger strike on Thursday in New Delhi in protest against the stalling of the Parliament during the recent Budget session by the opposition. Giving him company, the BJP MPs across the country staged hunger strike in their respective constituencies.  BJP president staged a hunger strike in Kartaka.  It may be recalled that the Budget session witnessed stalling of the House by the opposition with the Congress in the lead.

The BJP has alleged that during the stalling of the Parlimant huge amount of fund went down the drain and that no matter of public interest could be taken up by the House for discussion.  In Assam the BJP MPs staged hunger strike in their own constituencies. In Guwahati, Bijoya Chakraborty staged the hunger strike and she was accompanied by East Guwahati MLA Sidhartha Bhattacharya, Dispur MLA Atul Bora and several other party leaders.
