GUWAHATI, March 12: The Hindu Yuva-Chatra Parishad: Asom (HYCPA) has appealed to the BJP to exclude of some of the tainted mes from its list of candidates for the Assembly election in the State. The Saffron party has announced its list of 88 candidates for the Assembly election.

Talking to newsmen in the city today, HYCPA president Balen Baishya said: “Fielding candidates by a political party can’t be its interl matter since such leaders, when elected, govern the people in general.  The list of candidates announced by the BJP recently has mes like that of rayan Deka, Bhaskar Sarma, Kushal Duwori, Jayram Engleng, Manoj Baruah and Jitu Goswami. How come the BJP take these people as honest with clean public image?  While rayan Deka is infamous for being a land  mafioso, Bhaskar Sarma has been tainted in the secret killing episode. Manoj Baruah is also known for his extreme tiolist attitude. Inclusion of such candidates by the BJP mocks the party’s stand made clear earlier that its candidates should be honest with clean image.” Baishya appealed to the BJP to exclude these candidates before it is too late from the list of candidates. “If the party fails to bring changes in the list of candidates, we’ll resort to build public opinion against each of these tainted candidates,” Baishya said.
