Ibobi opens Manipur Bhawan in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Oct 16: Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh iugurated the Manipur Bhawan at Ulubari here today. The Chief Minister, after cutting the ribbon, took part in a ceremonial lamp lighting ceremony. The four-storey Manipur Bhawan is built on a 0.94-hectare plot of land with an estimated cost of Rs 1,525 lakh. Rs 160 lakh has been spent on furniture inside the building.  The construction of the building started in 2004 and ended in September 2016. The Bhawan also has suits for the Chief Minister and other delegates. Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Gaighangam said that the Bhawan would facilitate people's convenience coming from Manipur to Guwahati, including patients and others. Manipur minister Biren Singh was also present on the occasion.
