Intertiol Yoga Day observed in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, June 21: Guwahati, along with rest of the State and the country, today observed the Intertiol Yoga Day. The Kamrup(M) district administration observed the day centrally at Soram HS School playground where around 3,000 people took part. DC M Angamuthu himself took part in the yoga programme.
 NDRF observes Yoga Day: The first Battalion tiol Disaster Response Force deployed at Patgaon, Guwahati celebrated the Intertiol Yoga Day today at its different company locations. Around 700 personnel of the Force took part in the celebration at Patgaon, Mirza, Changsari,  Agartala (Tripura), Lungverh, Aizawl (Mizoram), Silchar,  Sonitpur & IWT  Base at Uzan Bazzar  in Guwahati with great enthusiasm. On the  occasion First NDRF Commandant S K Sastri said: “Yoga is very helpful for the rescuers who directly experience or witness life threatening danger or physical harm, exposure to gruesome death, loss of home and neighborhood or community during or after disaster are at greatest risk for severe stress”.
GU NSS Cell holds Day: Intertiol Day of Yoga was celebrated by the Gauhati University NSS Cell in association with Vivekanda Kendra, Guwahati Branch at Gauhati University campus with a good number of participants of NSS volunteers, faculties, officers and employees. The programme was followed by demonstration of Yoga by practitioners, Yoga exhibition on Yogic Postures, Lecture on Yoga and distribution of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials to all the participants. Iugurating the programme, GU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mridul Hazarika said: ‘Yoga is a way of life’ and everyone should follow this path to create a healthy atmosphere in the Society.”
NFR observes day: The Intertiol Yoga day was celebrated at N.F. Railway Indoor Stadium at, Maligaon today in the presence of large number of staff and officials and their families. The event was iugurated by Chahatey Ram, General Mager, N.F Railway by lighting a lamp. The General Mager highlighted the benefits of yoga and appealed to the railway workers to practice Yoga to maintain good health. Art of Living Foundation Guwahati was associated in the event where their instructors conducted a mass Yoga session for the participants.
SSB takes part in programme: Personnel of SSB and other paramilitary forces took part at the yoga programme organized at Soram HS School in the city today. 
BSNL observes daylong programme: The Intertiol Yoga Day is observed with daylong programme at  BSNL Bhawan, Panbazar. Brahmakumari Mausumi  Behen, Centre in-charge, Noonmati Brahmakumari and Brahmakumari Manjula Behen, in-charge of Jyotigar branch are the chief guest of this programme. The programme was started with the lighting of the lamp by  MK Seth, Chief General Mager, BSNL, Assam Circle.
AP observes Day: The Assam Police also observed the Day at the 10th APBn field at Kahilipara in the city under the aegis of Assam Police headquarters. A number of Patanjali yoga mentors supervised the programme that attended, among others, by DGP Mukesh Sahay. Over 500 other personnel took part in the programme.      
240 BSF officers, personnel take part in programme: Troops of Guwahati Frontier of BSF observed the third Intertiol Yoga Day today. The Yoga programme at Frontier headquarters, Guwahati campus, was iugurated by BSF IG Rakesh Aggarwal. It was was participated by 240 officers and other ranks of BSF and NDRF. Moreover, 137 BSF personnel also participated in Combined Yoga programme of CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces) organized at Soram HS School, Bharalumukh, Guwahati.
