GUWAHATI, Nov 6: All Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuba Sanmilan (AAJYS) staged a sit-in demonstration at Dighalipukhuripar in Guwahati in support of its demand for reintroduction of the Assam Health Prohibition Act, 2013 by bringing amendment in it. The Sanmilan sent a memorandum to the Kamrup(M) Deputy Commissioner to this effect. In a statement issued to the press on Monday, Sanmilan’s city committee president Anwar Hussain said: “The occurrence of cancer is the highest in Assam among the north-eastern States, and hence the State Government should take legal weapons to protect youths of the State from rcotics and drugs.”
