It's threat to India, let alone Assam: BJP

GUWAHATI, Nov 15: The BJP Assam Pradesh has said that the statement made by Jamiat-Ulama-e-Hind president Arshad Madani on NRC update reeks of a message that is legal enough to destruct Assam.

In a statement issued to the press on Wednesday, the State BJP said: “The statement made by Madani is a direct and open challenge to the security of India, let alone Assam. Under whose backup Madani is emboldened to make such a statement is something to keep tabs on.” The State BJP further said: “NRC update work is going on under the supervision of the Supreme Court of India. Under such a situation, the statement made by Madani is a direct insult to the judicial system of the country. We condemn the statement.”
