Jain hands over toilet facility at Garigaon ME Madrassa

GUWAHATI, May 9: RC Jain, Secretary of Education, Assam, and mission director of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), iugurated a sanitary toilet block under Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan at Garigaon ME Madrassa at Garigaon, Jalukbari today. The toilet block has been constructed by Guwahati Refinery under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Handing over sanitary toilet block to the madrassa authorities, Jain said: “Guwahati Refinery has been doing a commendable job by building such sanitary toilet blocks in schools across the region. Such toilet blocks in schools will definitely ensure increased attendance in the schools and will help in achieving the vision of Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan. I urge the teachers and the students to maintain this facility well for prolonged use”.
Jain also mentioned about the Assam government’s sanitary initiative ‘Nirmal Asom’ in his speech.
J Barpujari, ED, Guwahati Refinery, said, “Guwahati Refinery has already constructed sanitary toilet facilities in schools in the past years, besides providing drinking water, supporting for health and hygiene, skill development and employability, women empowerment, and expansion of education. Under Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan IOCL is constructing sanitary toilet blocks not only in Assam but in other states too.” 
Saswati Begum, headmistress of the madrassa, thanked Guwahati Refinery for building the toilet facility in such urgency and facilitating education at the madrassa. She also assured to take care of the toilet facility as a property of the madrassa.
The meeting was also attended by K Gogoi, Inspector of Schools, along with officials from Guwahati Refinery.
