GUWAHATI, Oct 23: Ajay Jamwal, BJP's Northeast organizatiol general secretary, who is set to take charge on October 24 so as to keep the disarrayed party in Assam in good shape, was welcomed by the Northeast BJP in Delhi BJP office today.

According to NE BJP leaders Mas Deka, many BJP leaders were present at the function.

Jamwal said: "I'll lay more stress on organizatiol matters, especially in Assam. Around three lakh people from the Northeast are living at the tiol capital. So, I will have to talk for them also."

That Jamwal is taking the charge on the eve of Assembly polls in Assam is crucial for the party and the State. According to party sources, things started to go pear-shaped in the party in the State due to lack of cooperation among its MPs, MLAs and leaders of the State committee with one another. They are even engaged in making statements against one another. The situation has come to such a pass that the there lies a wide gap between the leaders of the party and its grassroots workers, and the gulp is still yawning.  According to sources in the party, only tangible development in the party is joining by leaders and workers from other parties and organizations. However, even all office-bearers of the State committee are well informed of such joining, let alone senior leaders of the party in the State.
