Mancha president Kushaljyoti Malakar, secretary Lakshyadhar Talukdar and over 1,000 others burnt the effigy of Mali at Mamoni Raisom Goswami Chowk at Mirza. The protestors had placards and festoons in their hands and shouted slogans like ‘Jatin Mali murdabad, we seek justice to Bishweswar Baruah suicide’ etc. They demanded of the district administration to arrest of Mali immediately for compelling a person to commit suicide. He should be arrested under the anti-corruption law and given exemplary punishment. They demanded of the administration to unearth Mali- Bishweswar connections from their call details.

Meanwhile, the middleman between Jatin Mali and Bishweswar, Hiren Saloi, was arrested today by the police. He had been absconding for the past few days. Saloi was close to Mali. He is the office-bearer of tun Aikya Mancha, Palasbari.

Still now Mali is absconding. The police have been launching operations to b him, but to no avail. The local people demanded of the administration to ensure the arrest of the former minister.
