Kamakhya shrine  up for enshrine

GUWAHATI, Dec 19: Kamakhya shrine (Shakti Peeth) atop Neelachal Hill in Guwahati is up for enshrine, with Rs 25 crore doted by OIL on December 9 this year.

The schemes to enshrine the peeth, according to officials sources, are development of a children recreation area at Bhabaneshwari Temple costing around Rs 131.34 lakh; development and beautification of historic Chandrabati Pond (tun Pukhuri) costing around Rs 350.24 lakh; development of a parking lot at Kamakhya outpost area including upgrading hospital facilities costing around Rs 443.88 lakh; development of parking, an information centre, draige at the entry point of Kamakhya Temple Road costing around Rs 181.78 lakh; beautification of the entry point of Kamakhya Temple (rotary at AT Road) costing around 91.15 lakh; development of a parking area near Prasanti Lodge, Bagala Mandir and Bhubaneswari Temple costing around Rs 301.40 lakh; development of an altertive road connecting Bagalamandir with Mekhelauzowa Path via Kali Mandir including roadside parking for two-wheelers costing Rs 87.89 lakh, a resting shed with public convenience including drinking water facilities along the road to Kamakhya from foothill costing around Rs 152.32 lakh; beautification work with fibre relief and depicting the history of Goddess Kamakhya including Assamese culture costing around Rs 60 lakh and construction of an altertive road connecting Bangshi Bagan and harbari costing Rs 7 crore. Dispur is going to upkeep all the facilities being given a facelift with dotions from OIL up to the fifth year.
