Kamrup(M): 7,23,154 of 11,49,000 applicants in draft

GUWAHATI, Jan 1: Approximately 7,23,154 mes of 11,49,000 applicants have come out the part draft NRC in five revenue circles in Kamrup(M) district.
The part draft NRC was formally published on December 31 2017 (midnight). Along with other parts of the State, the part draft NRC was published in five revenue circles (RCs), covering 78 NRC Seva Kendras (NSKs) under Kamrup Metropolitan district. 
Sources in Kamrup(M) district administration said: “The display of the draft to public started from 8 am January 1, 2018. Deputy Commissioner M Angamuthu, along with ADC NRC in-charge Kshitish Chandra Pegu, visited several NSKs this morning and appreciated all officials and staff engaged in NSKs for the hard work to accomplish this milestone.”
The deputy commissioner also interacted with some of the applicants whoever has come to check their mes in the draft. He requested the public not to panic in case some one’s me is not found in this part draft. Deputy Commissioner informed them that in case of pendency, their mes will be appearing in next draft after proper verification completes for those applicants.
“Out of total 11,49,000 (approximate) applicants in Kamrup Metropolitan district, a total of 7,23,154 (approximately) people are included in this part draft NRC. For the display of part draft NRC in respective NSKs to public, elaborate arrangements were made during the last few days. All 78 NSKs under Kamrup (M) are divided into 9 zones,” sources said. 
It is worth mentioning that 2,000 officials and staff have been engaged at various levels in NRC update process under Kamrup Metropolitan district. There are a total of 10 ADRCRs, 5 CRCRs, 78 LRCRs, 133 ALRCRs and around 1,700 people working as local officer (LO), additiol local officer (ALO), FLO (field level officer) and verification team members (VTs) under their respective jurisdiction. Lastly, several socio-cultural organizations as well as media played a vital role in smooth publication of the Part Draft NRC in the Metro district.
