Keep identity of Cotton College intact: AASU

GUWAHATI, May 31: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has raised its opposition to the merger of Cotton College and Cotton College State University to a single entity to be med Cotton University as the move is going to abolish Cotton College. “We’ve no objection to establish Cotton University, but to make that happen the identity and existence of the Cotton College should not suffer,” AASU president Dipanko Kumar th and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi said in a statement issued to the press today. The AASU leaders have also appealed to the Chief Minister, the Education Minister, the Speaker of the State Assembly and all people’s representative of the State to reconsider the decision.
