KMSS fast in groups

GUWAHATI, June 15: KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi and other members of the Samiti went to stage a hunger strike in front of APSC office at Khapara today as announced yesterday. However, with the police not allowing Akhil Gogoi to sit for fast in front of the APSC office and asking him to stage the fast by sitting on the footpath, he opted to sit for the fast on the road. He is likely to continue his fast for three days. Meanwhile, the opposition on the part of the police led the KMSS activists to divide themselves in groups, each comprising four members, and sat for fast at various places - In front of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's official residence, the DC office, Raj Bhavan and the DGP office. The KMSS has been demanding removal of Rakesh Paul as APSC chairman, cancellation of the ACS list, 2013, a CBI inquiry into the APSC anomalies and full-fledged APSC reforms.
