Koch culture and history in 5-minute video song

 By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 16: ' Junjar Ranua The Rebirth of the Koches' – a video song spanning for five minutes yet encompassing the rich history, ethnicity and culture of the Koch-Rajbongshis – was released at a function at Guwahati Press Club on Monday veteran jourlist Dhirendrath Chakravarty. The video song, directed and produced by Indrajit rayan Deb and made by Guwahati Dwijendra Chalochitra Pratisthan, is available at Youtube/Channel.
At the vocal cords of famed singer Joy Baruah the song written by lyricist Ibsonlal is alive with a brief and forgotten history of Kamrup-Kamata. A drone camera captured historic monuments and folk culture of the Koch-Rajbongshis from Sikjhar along the Assam-Bhutan border, from Majuli-Xatrahal, from either bank of the Sonkosh river in North Bengal to either side of the Koshi river, West Garo Hills, and Jhapa, Morong and Sori areas in Nepal. The arduously gleaned information has been presented in a way to make it easily comprehensible to the audience and intellectuals.   The credit for the components of the song and their research goes to Arupjyoti Das. The song is choreographed David Rai and edited by Ashim Sarma.
