Lachit Xe to boycott corrupt politicians

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 14: The Lachit Xe has raised its protest against the filing of nomition by a number of corrupt candidates of various political parties for the Assembly election in the State.

Talking to newsmen at Dispur Press Club today, Lachit Xe’s ‘commander-in-chief’ Amar Barua said: “The lists of candidates announced by the various political parties in the State have proved that the selection of candidates has not been based on candidates’ clean image. Selection of candidates like Bhashkar Gogoi in Margherita LAC, daughter-in-law of Membor Gogoi Pollobi Gogoi in Tiok LAC has proved flaws in the selection process. It seems that the Congress MLAs and ministers who have been in power for 15 years have learnt the art of passing the legacy of family rule to their kin.”

“Historical places like Lachit Garh, Xilxako Beel, Deepor Beel were encroached by the relatives of AIUDF president Badaruddin Ajmal, former minister Akon Mora, Himanta Bishwa Sarma, Ajanta Neog and others. No selected candidates has ever thought or worked for the problems of the people of their respective constituency, instead destroyed the historical monuments. BJP leader Rameswar Tally’s comment on Ahom community shows his and his party’s negative thought towards the community,” added Barua.
