Lack of playgrounds irks Azara residents

AZARA, Oct 27: Lack of playgrounds, poor sports facilities in the greater Azara area on the city outskirts have irked residents the residents of the area.

Many residents of the area have been demanding a well-equipped playground for last several years but the government turning deaf ears to the demand of the people.

“Neither the previous Congress government nor the present BJP government have given importance to our demand,” said a local.

There are so many fields including Shyambhumi ground at VIP chowk, Rajdhar Bora HS School ground at Borbori, Udayan filed at Kondapara, Boy’s Club field at Keotpara, Dharapur HS School field at Dharapur and Palashbari High School at Agsia in the area but no steps have been taken by the administration to develop these fields to well-equipped stadium despite the repeated appeals of the residents.

Even though the administration started a project in 2005 to develop the playground of Shyambhumi High School under Rajiv Gandhi Rural Sports Project, the project has not been completed today. Similarly, the development works of Palashbari High School playground remained incomplete.
