According to Kristi, her father Parimal Das, former deputy chairman of GMDA, has a plot of land measuring over one bigha near Mizoram House on GS Road in the city. “The plot has some houses that have been given on rent. At 4 pm on Monday, I received a telephone call from one of our tents that a group around 35 land mafiosi beat them up severely and drove them away. I made no delay to inform Bhangagarh police of the incident, and requested them to rush to the spot. I also let the police know that I was rushing to the plot of land,” Krishti said, and added: “I found around 35 youths there. When I asked them as to why they beat up our tents in the plot, one of them pushed me away and said that it was their plot. When I was about to ring the police, one of them stched my hand set and gave it to one of his colleagues. At that time someone from among them hit me on the head with an iron rot from behind. I have had three stitches on the head and five in right hand, besides getting my left hand fractured.”

While my father sustained injuries in his left hand, my uncle suffered bleeding from one of his ears. Despite my request, the police failed to turn up at the spot. We made no delay to lodge an FIR at Bhagagarh police station that registered a case (206/17). However, none of the goons has been arrested so far. I even requested the police to recover my handset that has my persol information, but to no avail.”
