Land grabbing in city!

GUWAHATI, Nov 15:  Police iction is alleged in a land grabbing incident at Six Mile by one Sanjay Kumar Baruah who has grabbed a plot of land from the family of Bijoy Lakhi Bhattacharya, who resides in Sydney, Australia.

“Out of fraudulent means Baruah acquired 3 kotha 3 lesa of land from my brother Late Dhrubajyoti Goswami by showing us that he has brought the land by paying a huge sum of money to my brother. Baruah now grabbed the entire over two bigha plot of my family in the Six Mile area in May and fenced it. At first he encroached upon the land and resorted to violence,” Bijoy Lakhi Bhattacharya said. “How could Dispur Police be so ictive on this issue? In the heart of the city, how can one grab land in broad daylight? The OC of the police station said that the land has been bought by Sanjay Kumar Baruah. Upon intervention of Mukesh Aggarwal, the then Guwahati Police Commissioner, the police laid importance for two days. However, after the transfer of Agarwal there has been no progress in the investigation,” Bhattacharya added.
