NF Railway GM (Construction) NK Prasad commenced the launching of the last normal span of the Bogibeel Bridge superstructure on November Sunday, a press release said. The launching of the last span on to the pier will be completed by November 30, 2017. This important milestone marks the culmition of the critical superstructure steel fabrication and assembly works of the longest Rail-cum-Road bridge in India, the release said. The completion of launching of the last span of 125 metre will open front for construction of balance portion of the south road viaduct which will link the tiol Highway to the main bridge. The work of casting of road deck on top of the steel superstructure is also progressing simultaneously, the release added.
