LDP hits out at Sonowal

GUWAHATI, Sept 11: The newly formed LDP has termed Union Minister of State (independent charge) for Sports and Youth Affairs Sarbanda Sonowal a surrendered Jatiya yak.

Without ming Sonowal, LDP president Pradyut Bora said: “Assam is passing sleepless nights amid a calamity. The State is now being drifted like a ship without its sailor. The problem of erosion in ubated in Majuli. Where is the Jatiya yak at this hour of crisis? He doesn’t think of any solution to erosion in Majuli, but he holds youth festival in the river island. He is now in a deep slumber.”

On Luis Berger scam, Bora said: “Along with Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, Sonowal pointed his accusing finger at Himanta Biswa Sarma. State BJP president Siddhartha Bhattacharyya has given Sarma a clean chit. Just to sow the seeds of commulism in Assam and to win the 2016 Assembly elections in the State, the BJP has unrolled a red carpet to Sarma, but our Jatiya yak is silent. He is in fact ‘surrendered Jatiya yak’. He has surrendered before Prime Minister rendra Modi and BJP tiol president Amit Shah.”

On the Centre’s exemption to Bangladeshi and Pakistani tiols belonging to minority communities in those countries --  Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Parsis and Bhuddhists -- in their stay in India, Bora said: “Delhi should set up a refugee centre there and then send them to different states taking into account their areas and demographies.”
