Locals kill bear that injures 5 villagers

MIRZA, May 31: Five persons sustained serious injuries when they were attacked by a wild bear at Bagan Chanpur Gaon under Palasbari LAC today. The five – Jamu Rabha (50), Mahon Rabha (33), Sankar Rabha (46), Sankar Chetri (26) and Dipak Boro (26) –were taken to Mirza PHC from where they were sent to the GMCH.
Meanwhile, the people of the locality came out for self-defense and killed the bear, besides taking out its ils and teeth. Forest personnel from Loharghat took the carcass of the bear.
