Logistic hub, integrated check-post in Assam

GUWAHATI, May 6: The Assam Government signed two MoUs – one for the development of a Multi-Modal Logistic Hub (MMLH) in Guwahati and the other for the development of an Integrated Check-post in Sutarkandi. The MoUs were signed by Ashutosh Agnihotri, Commissioner and Secretary, Transport on behalf of the Assam Government.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari said: ‘These initiatives will give a definite and sustaible push to the development of Assam, making the Act East Vision a reality.”
State Minister for Transport, Industries and Commerce Chandra Mohan Patowary said: “Convergence of development in infrastructure sector and development of Multi-Modal Logistic Hub will promote trade and commerce and bring Assam at the centre of India South East Asia interface.”
Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways organized the ‘India Integrated Logistic Summit’ from May 3-5, 2017 in New Delhi. The summit brought all stakeholders together, including state governments, multilateral agencies, industries and private sectors.
