Mahavishnu Yaj by Brahman Samaj

GUWAHATI, May 26: The Asom Brahman Samaj has started a three-day Mahavishnu Yaj for world peace at Sri Marwari Brahmon Bhawan, Chatribari, Gaushala in the city from today.

The yaj is being held under the aegis of Guwahati Mahagar Zila Brahman Samaj on the occasion of the eighth biennial conference of the Asom Brahman Samaj and the third biennial conference of the Guwahati Mahagar Zila Brahman Samaj.

While Asom Brahman Samaj president Sunil Kumar Goswami was the chief guest at the yaj today, former Gauhati University Professor Dr. Girish Chandra was the appointed speaker. East Guwahati MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya opened the delegates’ first meeting.

A semir on ‘Brahminic Culture and Welfare of People in the Hindu Satan Philosophy’ will be held tomorrow at the auditorium of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. The cultural programme there will be opened by DGP Mukesh Sahay at 7 pm.

On May 28 a cultural procession will be taken out from Chatribari to GMCH conference hall. The open session will be iugurated by Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal at 11 am when the State Governor will be the chief guest.
