GUWAHATI, March 13: Haste makes waste! Dispur is now making haste slowly so as not to end up making mistakes again in the dossier to be submitted to UNESCO for getting world’s largest river island, Majuli, as a world heritage site. This has been a long-standing demand that continues to be elusive for Dispur. Replying to a question from BJP’s Gurujyoti Das, State Cultural Affairs Minister ba Kumar Doley told the State Assembly on Tuesday that the State Government was taking all efforts to submit the dossier to the UNESCO as nomition in 2019 for declaring Majuli as a world heritage site. Loopholes, if any in the draft dossier for the purpose, according to the minister, are being looked into carefully.
