DIMORIA, Sept 5: Jogdol murder case in Sopur completes eight years. The killing of the prime accused in the case has also completed four years, but the culprits of the both the cases have not been brought to book as yet. The Dimoria Anchalik Chatra Santha (DACS) registered their protest against the police iction into the case today by wearing black badges.

On December 12, 2009, six members of Harakanta Doloi’s family were brutally killed by miscreants. Arjun Bordoloi was one of the accused in the case. However, he was also killed on September 5, 2012 in a planned way. The local people doubted that Bordoloi had been killed atop at zirakhat hill and left the body in his house. The moneybag of Bordoloi was found atop zirakhat Hill. The police failed to identify the killers of the six family members of Harakanta Doloi in the past eight years and the killers of Arjun Bordoloi in the past four years.

The DACS said that if the police could identify and b the killers of Arjun Bordoloi, those behind the Jogdol murder case would be exposed. “According to the disclosure made by RTI activist Dulal Bora before the media earlier, former minister Akon Bora did pay Arjun Bordoloi Rs 5 lakh through Bijay Saikia as advance for the killing of the family members of Harakanta Doley. In fact, Arjun Bordoloi was killed so as to erase all witnesses and proofs in the Jogdol murder case,” the students’ body said.

Through the East Kamrup Deputy Commissioner, the students’ body sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister and demanded that the report of the CID investigation into the Harakanta Doloi killing case be made public. A copy each of the memorandum was also sent to the DGP and Dispur MLA Atul Bora.
