Mammoth crowd in Ravan Dahan at Mirza

MIRZA, Oct 11: Amidst the cheering crowd of around 25,000, renowned actor Nipon Goswami today lighted the idol of Rava at a Ravan Dahan programme organized at RB HS and MP School at Sarpara in Mirza by Friends’ Club today.   

This is the third consecutive year that Friends’ Club has organized Ravan Dahan. Local MLA Prab Kalita was also present at the programme.

On behalf of the organizing committee, Pankaj Kumar Das said: “We want the triumph of good over evil forces in the State. We want all youths of the State to be united to defeat all evil forces. Through Ravan Dahan we want to get the message across that all corruption and malpractices taking place in the State should be defeated with united efforts.” After lighting the idol of Rava, the actor said: “Such a mammoth gathering daring today’s inclement weather is beyond my imagition. I hope the very purpose of Ravan Dahan – destroying all evil forces – will be served.”
