Marathon spade works by BJP for 2019 LS polls

Guwahati, March 30: With just over a year to go for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the ruling BJP has already started the prelimiry spade works for the same with a view to recapturing power at the Centre. On March 24 BJP tiol president Amit Shah came to Guwahati and took part in a meeting of the party booth presidents . He also held several meetings with state party leaders in-charge of different departments as well as with state party leaders and discussed various matters pertaining to the party and the state and the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

In every meeting, as also in the meeting with the party booth  presidents, Amit Shah urged all, the party leaders and the workers, to gear up for the 2019 Lok Sabh polls to recapture the seat of power in Delhi.

He asked the leaders and workers that the party targets 21 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the north-east and that in Assam it targets 12 of the 14 seats. It may be recalled that in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls the BJP won 8 seats in NE of which 7 are from Assam.

Significantly, within one week of Shah’s departure, joint general secretary of the BJP V Satish arrived in Guwahati on Thursday and attended several meetings at a stretch on a marathon mode. He held meetings with the party office bearers, chiefs and vice chiefs of various government constituted boards who are mainly from the BJP, party media department staff like party spokespersons, media panelist, social media cell members, leaders of all departments and morchas of the party and such other representatives in separate meetings and pressed for expediting the organizatiol activities of the party as directed by Amit Shah.

On the other hand, the Tea Morcha of the BJP met in Guwahati today and decided to form committees in every line of the tea gardens of Assam. Pallav Loshan Das, Minister in-charge of Tea Tribes Welfare, also attended the meeting. Several other ministers of the state also attended the same.
