March in city by Adivasis on Sept 11

GUWAHATI, Sept 8: The All Adivasi-Tea Tribes Jagaran Association (AATTJA), Assam is going to stage a ‘Chal Sobai’ (March to Dispur) agitation at Dispur Last Gate on September 11 in support of its various demands. In a press statement, AATTJA general secretary Santosh Kurmi said: “All lower primary schools located in Tea Estates in the State should be converted into government institutions. Our other demands include solutions to the problems being faced by the workers of tea estates in the Barak and Brahmaputra valleys. The State Government should conduct separate TETs for Adivasi-Tea Tribe candidates, besides 30 per cent reservation of posts for them.”
