GUWAHATI, Dec 28: The Sadou Asom Jatiya Swahid Parial Samanyrakhi Parishad (SAJSPSP) reiterated its appeal to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to accord priority to next of kin of martyrs and those affected in the Assam agitation while filling up the vacant posts in the State.

Talking to The Sentinel today, Parishad general secretary Manik Chandra Debath said: “We did meet Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on December 7 when the Winter Session of the State Assembly was underway, and raised our demand. The Chief Minister assured us of consulting the matter with the Assam Accord Implementation Minister immediately. We also met the Accord Implementation Minister. We, 315 candidates, have applied against vacant third and fourth grade posts in as many as 16 departments under PA Rules, 1999. However, Dispur has not followed this rule. We came to know that Dispur is going to start filling up the vacant posts in many departments soon, and the Chief Minister has given his go-ahead sigl for that. We demand that we should be given appointment under PA Rule 1999 and Section 14 (B) of the Assam Accord on a priority basis.”
