Marwari Hospitals achieve a milestone

GUWAHATI, Dec 17: Marwari Hospitals, formerly known as Marwari Maternity Hospital and Marwari Hospital & Research Centre, has achieved a milestone of delivering 1 lakh babies at its unit Marwari Maternity Hospital since its inception in 1985.  

In order to celebrate the milestone, an event has been organized at Lions Auditorium, Chatribari Guwahati today. Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit was the chief guest and SBI Chief General Mager, North East Circle, PVSLN Murthy was the guest of honour.

On this occasion, the parents of the first baby, vanita Dutta, born to Anjali Dutta and rayan Dutta in this hospital on November 22, 1985 and the 1,00,000th   baby, Master Chinmoy Sarmah, born to Dipanjali Sarmah and Pankaj Sarmah, were felicitated today. Some nursing staff of the hospital were also felicitated for their distinguished services.

Shree Marwari Databya Aushadhalaya (SMDA) was established on May 18, 1916 to provide medical relief to the public at large, mainly to economically backward people, regardless of their caste, colour, creed or religion. It and has completed 100 years of glorious existence.

The Governor said that the services being rendered by Marwari Maternityis better than government hospitals in the State. He assured the hospital authorities of fincial aid.

Similar assurances have also come from the SBI Chief General Mager, north east circle.  

At its unit med Fancy Bazar Outdoor Dispensary (FBOD), it provides free medical consultancy and distributes free listed medicines annually to more than 50,000 persons per annum. Its  2nd unit, Marwari Hospitals, is a 160-bed hospital providing multi-speciality services. Further its 3rd unit, Marwari Hospitals Diagnostic Centre (MHDC), is a state-of-the-art pathlab, having BL accreditation.
