Massive landslides in Jorabat

DIMORIA, July 3: Incessant rains on Sunday led to a number of landslides at Ambhergaon at Jorabat this morning. A girl had a miraculous escape in such an incident.

At 12 Mile the concrete wall of Manju Momin’s house collapsed this morning. Bobita Choudhary, who was sleeping inside the house at that time, sustained injuries. There was a landslide on NH-37 near Jorabat on Sunday night. Two bike riders had a providential escape at that incident.

Sopur Circle Officer Dr. Dhubajyoti Hazarika visited the spot and asked the people residing in such vulnerable places to move to safer areas. He also asked his subordites for evacuating landslide-prone places.
