Addressing a press conference held here on Thursday, the KMSS chief alleged that Tarun Gogoi is trying to make his son Gaurav Gogoi’s future political career secure and he is trying to induct some “devils” in the ministry.

Akhil Gogoi said that Tarun Gogoi’s possible decision to replace Akon Bora, who had looted the Social Welfare Department of crores of rupees, with Abhayapuri MLA Chandan Sarkar, was a testimony of the fact that the Chief Minister was not against corruption but he was encouraging it.

According to the KMSS chief, the State’s Anti–Corruption and Vigilance Cell had filed chargesheet against Sarkar in regard to a corruption case.

The KMSS chief also pointed at huge assets (when Chandan Sarkar became the MLA) accumulated by Sarkar disproportiote to his known sources of income.
