Mobile cinema gets underway

GUWAHATI, Oct 1: The Jajagaran Mobile Cinema is underway showcasing and promoting Assamese movies among the people of the State. The event which started on September 26 was iugurated by Assam Assembly Speaker Ranjit Kumar Dass, Madhurima Choudhury, Nipon Dholua and others.

Initially on September 27, using a projector and a screen, three Assamese movies ‘Me and My Sister’, ‘Protyahban’, and ‘Morisika’ directed by Nipon Dholua were shown at Merapani, Kasomari and Forkating in Golaghat district.

On October 2, ‘Lokobandhu’ directed by Dhiraj Kashyap was shown at Guwahati Central Jail where PWD Minister Parimal Suklabaidya was the chief Guest.

On October 24 ‘Pratyahban’ was shown at Destition, a home for differently-abled chidren’. East Guwahati MLA Sidhartha Bhattacharya was the chief Guest.

In November ‘Bandhon’ directed by Jahnu Baruah will be shown in an old-age home.

“This event is taking place under the banner of NBDK production. The money collected from this event will go to the proposed Chief Minister’s aid to the artists. We helped the children of Destition selling their handmade goods like bags, earthen lamps and flower vases at Ganeshguri ,” event mager Aditya Kr. Kashyap said.
