Modi failed to rise to the challenge: AICC

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, May 25: All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary CP Joshi today said that one year has elapsed but the blueprint of Indian economy prepared by the NDA has failed to yield any positive results as assured by Prime Minister rendra Modi soon after coming to power.

Talking to newsmen here today, Joshi said: "Modi failed to translate his pre-poll promises for which the people of the country voted him to power. He did assure the people of creating job opportunities for five crore people in five years. However, a year has elapsed, but his government has been able to provide jobs to only 17.5 lakh people. This is a total failure." Joshi further said: "On prices of essential commodities, the BJP did criticize the UPA government at the Centre. However, a comparative study of the prices of 18 essential commodities as on May 1, 2014 and May 1, 2015 shows that the prices of all commodities have gone up, barring that of rice and sugar."
